I tested on a list with a choice field "colour" and the following
formula counted the number of unique colours selected:
<xsl:value-of select="count(//Row[not
(@Colour=preceding::Row/@Colour)])"/>
In your case, I suggest you try
<xsl:value-of select="count(//Row[not
(@DueDate=preceding::Row/@DueDate)])"/>
